Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
What brings and puts love in our hearts is the words of Allah. I experienced that love from people I have never ever met before in my life. I saw the love in their eyes. And get genuine duas for me myself and my family because what I am doing is only to understand the book of Allah. Biggest gift i can earn is the duas of people. Because nothing valuable then duas you can get from people in your life.
Let me tell you a little story about myself. I was born in a muslim family but very average Uzbek family. Basically means that we did not take religion too seriously. I didn’t know how to pray and didn’t know how to read Quran. My school was specialized in music and I learned how to play musical instruments. I used to listen to music and hangout with my friends and play the guitar. I thought religion is outdated, it is not for modern people and it is only for people in the past. I used to be scared from religious people cause I never find them smiling to me. The more islamic you are the more angry you get at the world. And I was not alone, million of people used to think like that. Religious people judged me all the time and told me how I am in trouble. I really scared of them.
But one day I decided to pray but I didn’t know how to do it. I bought some books, but it’s a pity that I find it really hard to understand. It was so complicated. My first opinion about Quran was that it was irrelevant and unimpressive. When I meet other people who want to learn about Quran for the first time, they had exactly the same opinion as mine. So I thought something is missing here, something is very wrong. So I came here to study my religion with reliable sources. Then I found what I was searching for a whole of my life.
I want to share with you one ayat in suratul Nahl (125):
ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ
The meaning is:
Invite mankind to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching and argue with them in a way that is better.
I am going to explain this ayat. Hikmah means wisdom in English. Allah says Ud’u. Ud’u means “invite”. So in the very beginning of this ayat Allah says Ud’u, invite! When you invite someone to your house you ask it in a good manner because this is an act of friendship. If you are not friendly, don’t invite someone. If your personality is stubborn and nervous why don’t you try to change your attitude towards people instead of inviting them. If you are not gentle and frustrated of people you scare them to death.
Second, Allah says Ud’u ila sabili robbik. Sabili means path. Allah didn’t say to invite people to Islam or invite people to the religion of God. Instead, Allah says invite to the path. There is so much wisdom in this word. Cause this is the most powerful truth of Islam. Allah invites people to the road not the destination. Do People travel in the same speed on the road? No. Some people travel fast and some people travel slow. But they still making progress. The problem is we want every people progress in the same speed. Even parents compare their children and say why don’t you be like your sister. People are not the same. Allah wants you to progress and enjoy the road. Allah doesn’t want perfection from you. He doesn’t force you to become a perfect immediately. That’s only people want from you. People feel bad because they think they are not good enough.
Allah knows our ability and capability. In the history we know that while prohibiting an alcohol Allah didn’t say to stop it quickly. But he only warned us and said: “the evil in the alcohol is greater than the benefit” and that was enough for the first time.
Next time Allah said “Don’t go near praying when you drunk”. So Allah haven’t prohibit alcohol yet at that time. Because people were not ready to quit it.Allah gave them time to progress and be mature to stop the alcohol. And after some days past he finally said “this is evil from the work of the devil. Or you stop or what?” And then it was prohibited. This is one of the examples of Allah that he shows his wisdom in action.
If someone does something that is against to your world of view or your religion don’t hurry to judge. Because everybody has a good side and a good character which can please someone else. You could be perfect Quran learner or prayer 5 times a day but that doesn’t allow you to judge others. In the outside you act cruel with others by judging their life. Our concentration should be pointed on fixing our inside not others outside. This is the more important thing that Islam teaches us. Therefore every human being has its rights to choose how they spend their life and be ready to respect it. Respecting others requires wisdom and this wisdom is called tolerance. Because of which we plant peace in our world.
